Accommodations
We support academic accommodations
We are committed to ensuring that students have every opportunity to succeed in our course. Students require an academic accommodation or the use of auxiliary aids and services in a class need to initiate a request with the Student Disability Access Office (SDAO). The SDAO will evaluate the request with required documentation, recommend appropriate accommodations, and prepare a verification letter dated in the current academic term in which the request is being made. Please contact the SDAO as soon as possible (https://access.duke.edu/students).
For exam accommodations, we will be using Duke’s testing center. A week’s (7 days) notice is needed to schedule appropriate accommodations through the testing center. See https://testingcenter.duke.edu/for-students/ for details. Students should book their appointments under our lecture course (PSY101-001), NOT under their discussion section. We also encourage students to book your appointments EARLY to help the testing center with planning. In fact, all exams are set up at the beginning of the semester and appointments can be made as early as desired!
If students need to schedule their exam for a slightly different time than our normal class (e.g., start a bit early) because of their class schedule, they should be able to specify that in the form and just explain WHY they need a different time.
